Summary This position is located in the Information, Tickets and Tours Office, Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department, Naval Air Station, Jacksonville Florida. The incumbent provides customer service to authorized patrons by promoting and selling tickets and providing information for a wide variety of recreational and cultural activities as well as serving as a source of information relating to recreational activities on and off the Naval Station. Responsibilities General (Duties include but are not limited to): Incumbent assists patrons in organizing trips to tourist attractions and/or in the purchasing of tickets to a variety of tourist attractions, sporting events, concerts and other recreational activities. Incumbent may make reservations for patrons, i.e., hotel, and dinner show reservations. Provides up to date information to patrons over the telephone as well as face to face. Verifies patron eligibility for military discounts. Contacts various commercial activities and other agencies to obtain up to date information concerning pricing specials, discounts, availability and other pertinent information. May be required to prepare stock replenishment orders, maintain inventory records and update current price list. Prepares sales receipts, rings items up on cash register and collects payment for services, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures for cash, check and credit card handling. Ensures proper payment for tickets and/or services via Point of Sale System. Responsible for personal ticket stock inventory, change fund, the depositing of cash receipts and reconciliation of cash receipts, with customer receipts and ticket inventory daily. Incumbent makes daily bank deposits of Western Union monies and receipts. Maintains current event files for all local events/attractions, which includes other MWR facility events and hours of operation. Ensures that brochures regarding attractions, special events and accommodations as well as recreation publications are easily accessible to patrons. Accepts custody of tickets from Ticket Custodian and obtains needed change fund requirements in the absence of Supervisor. Responsible for security of equipment and ticket inventory. Assures cash, safe, and building doors are locked upon end of assigned work shift. Assists with the group travel program of the ITT Office to administer trips. May act as a trip escort responsible for the safety and coordination of the group while on the trip. Assists in maintaining overall appearance and cleanliness of the office. May perform other duties as assigned. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Basic knowledge of local and Florida recreational attractions. Ability to operate a computerized cash register Point of Sale system and skill in cash handling. Ability to follow oral directions. Ability to deal tactfully with persons from divergent backgrounds. Should have a record of demonstrated responsibility. Must present a neat, clean and presentable appearance. Special Requirements: Must have a valid State of Florida Driver's License. Must complete and receive a satisfactory National Agency Check. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience.
