    Who We Are: The Department of Technology, Management and Budget(DTMB) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services including Information Technology project delivery, maintenance and support. This position is with the Agency Services area of DTMB supporting the Michigan Department of State (MDOS).

We need someone who can help resolve problems in a timely manner and seek effective solutions.

     

    About The Position: This position will support the Michigan Department of State (MDOS), Bureau of Elections, which is responsible for managing the Qualified Voter File and providing appropriate testing support for this critical IT application. The Quality Assurance Specialist supports the Qualified Voter File. This position provides expertise and oversight for all automation testing initiatives. This position is responsible for understanding MDOS and DTMB quality objectives anddeveloping processes and strategic plans that ensure applications are delivered meeting quality standards. The Quality Assurance Specialist will serve as the Subject Matter Expert, ensuring compliance, for all IT project testing activities and deliverables, in accordance with the State Unified Information Technology Environment (SUITE) standards and SOM IT Governance. In addition, the Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for selecting, maintaining and integrating the appropriate set of tools, processes and procedures to ensure all key quality processes are able to be implemented and maintained, including but not limited to: requirements traceability, test automation, test case and test result repositories, defect remediation tools, test data management plans, etc.

     

    Position Location/Remote Office: The office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate. The Department of Technology Management and Budget currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week.

    SIGNING BONUS: This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $2,500. Up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.

    An associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, mathematics or equivalent; and at least two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician and four years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst 12.
