    SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES MUST:

    Elementary Education 1-6, Elementary Education B-6

     

    Cleveland Hill UFSD is seeking a high-energy individual that is passionate about middle level education. Candidates should have knowledge of standards-based classroom instruction and be committed to collegiality and collaboration with his/her peers. The candidate must demonstrate unquestionable integrity and a firm belief in the worth and potential of all students.

    Experience and Educational Requirements:

    + Design and implement the English Language Arts curriculum

    + Provide students with real-world project based learning opportunities

    + Collaborate with ELA and AIS teachers to design collaborative learning opportunities

    + Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences

    + Develop lesson plans

    + Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities

    + Identify and utilize different instructional resources and methods to support the learning needs of students at varying levels of progress

    + Use relevant technology to support instruction

    + Observe and evaluate student performance and development

    + Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments as appropriate

    + Provide appropriate feedback on student work

    + Monitor and encourage individual student progress

    + Provide guidance to students, which will promote educational development

    + Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development

    + Update records accurately and completely as required by district policies

    + Prepare required reports on students and activities

    + Manage student behavior and maintain discipline by establishing classroom rules and procedures and enforcing classroom, school, and district rules and procedures

    + Participate in department, school, and district meetings and professional development activities as appropriate

    + Stay current with most recent developments in appropriate subject areas as initiated by the school or district

    + Foster and maintain effective communication with parents and/or guardians

    + Create and maintain a physically and emotionally safe environment for students that includes SEL and restorative practices. Model, practice and discuss respectful, unbiased and effective communication with students

    + Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal

    QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE OF:

    + Principles, theories, methods, techniques, and strategies pertaining to teaching and instruction of students

    + Educational curriculum and instructional goals and objectives, and the educational trends and research-based findings pertaining to student educational programming

    + Behavior management and behavior strategies, techniques, methods and conflict resolution procedures

    + Socio-economic and cultural background differences of general student population; Cultural responsiveness

    + Commitment to the success of all children

    + Demonstrates success in collaborative teaching, managing a mixed-ability classroom and facilitating performance-based learning
