This position will support the coordination of the Austin Energy Solar for All program that is currently in development. This position will be responsible for leading planning and implementation of parts of Solar for All, including the Community Ambassadors, and customer experience, and supporting the Solar for All project team throughout project planning and execution.
Primary duties will include:
+ Coordinate program operations, including strategy, reporting, budget, and vendor contracts.
+ Support development and updates of program documents and processes.
+ Lead the customer application and enrollment process and ensure participants have a positive customer experience.
+ Resolve customer or contractor escalations and implement best practices for utility demand-side management programs.
+ Coordinate development of new program offerings and customer services that support community education, solar energy, and grid resiliency with a focus on low-income and disadvantaged customers.
+ Lead the Community Ambassadors to ensure they have what they need to be successful.
+ Development and implementation of program outreach.
+ Coordinate marketing and outreach efforts and collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders with a focus on low-income and disadvantaged communities. Stakeholders include non-profits, advocacy organizations, City of Austin boards and commissions, and other City of Austin departments.
+ Facilitate and assist with the training of staff and contractors.

WORK SCHEDULE :
+ This position has been designated as a Critical Employee position. Critical Employees are considered necessary and vital and supports activities that impact City or department operations. This work can be done while at a designated work site or while working at an alternate work location. Critical employees who are able to work at an alternative work location are required to do so. Schedules may be modified, and employees may be reassigned to another area during extraordinary situations or emergency conditions to provide essential services.
TRAVEL :
+ If you are selected for this position and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, (https://www.austintexas.gov/sites/default/files/files/Employment/new\_hire\_driver\_safety\_standards.pdf) you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.
Pay Range
$32.23 – $40.29 per hour

+ Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
+ Additional work hours may be required to support the 24-hour Utility operations, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, inclement weather and emergency closures.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience:
+ Experience in coordinating demand-side management programs and implementing process improvement and operational best practices.
+ Experience engaging with low-income customers, advocates, and stakeholders about energy efficiency and education.
+ Experience with procurement processes and the coordination of vendors.
+ Knowledge or certifications related to solar energy and electric utility policies and operations, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
+ Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
+ Ability to travel to more than one work location.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
+ Serves as coordinator or liaison for interdepartmental and interagency issues and projects
+ Communicates project and program information to internal and external customers
+ Assists in management or resolution of interdepartmental and interagency conflicts
+ Facilitates closure of litigated cases
+ Negotiates permit and/or plan revisions with project engineers and contractors
+ Develops/establishes service agreements with other programs, departments and agencies
+ Develops and manages contracts
+ Manages and reviews environmental remediation plans
+ Provides technical advice and assistance to City management, staff, contractors, and businesses
+ Evaluates projects, programs and criteria
+ Assists in the development and adoption of new City Code regulations, policies and procedures
+ Assists in development of new/revised interdepartmental or interagency protocol or procedures
+ Reviews, evaluates and recommends revisions to City Code, rules, policies and legislative bills
+ Reviews, evaluates and recommends revisions to technical reports, studies and contract documents
+ Reviews site plans, environmental site assessments and stormwater/effluent discharge proposals
+ Evaluates existing conditions, collects samples, interprets sampling data, and develops corrective action plans
+ Educates and conducts presentations to public
+ Assists in the development of short and long range plans
+ Prepares written reports, memoranda, letters, RFP / RFQ /IFBs and Standard Operation Procedures
+ Assists in the development and monitoring of budgets
+ Attends City Council, Board, Commission Meetings, etc. as a City/Department staff representative
+ Responds to requests from the media
