What you’ll be doing
As a **Client Investment Analyst** , you will support Private Wealth relationship management by assisting with investment return calculations, performance measurement, and trading activity across client portfolios. You’ll work closely with Relationship managers and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of trades, analysis of investment data, and clear reporting. You’ll prepare performance calculations, interpret complex investment data, and ensure all reporting aligns with internal and regulatory standards. Your work will directly contribute to client presentations and the delivery of high-quality investment services.
How you’ll succeed
+ **Deliver accurate performance reporting:** Generate, update, and maintain client performance reports, including investment returns, asset allocation snapshots, and total portfolio performance.
+ **Ensure high attention to detail:** Accurately process trade activity, support investment strategy execution, and maintain internal systems and files.
+ **Analyze and report on data:** Interpret and communicate performance results to internal stakeholders; assist in preparing presentations and materials for client meetings.
+ **Collaborate effectively:** Work closely with Senior Analysts, portfolio managers, and other team members to deliver insights and ensure efficient portfolio monitoring.
+ **Stay informed:** Use internal systems, Bloomberg Terminal, and third-party sources for ongoing data gathering and analysis.
Who you are
+ **Educational background:** You have a B.A. or B.S. degree—Accounting, finance, or economics majors preferred.
+ **Industry experience:** You bring 2+ years of experience in investment analysis, financial services, or a related field.
+ **Detail-oriented:** You’re comfortable interpreting performance data and preparing return calculations with a high level of accuracy.
+ **Technically skilled:** You’re proficient in Excel and have familiarity with Bloomberg, performance reporting tools, and similar platforms.
+ **Analytical mindset:** You possess strong quantitative reasoning skills and can work with numerical and investment data effectively.
+ **Strong communicator:** You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to clearly explain financial concepts to clients and colleagues.
+ **Certifications:** CFA or Series 7/63 are a plus.
What you need to succeed
+ Strong technical and analytical skills with a deep attention to detail.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using financial data tools such as Bloomberg.
+ Ability to work independently while also collaborating across multiple internal teams.
+ Proven experience supporting trading activity and performance reporting in a fast-paced environment.
+ High level of comfort interpreting investment performance data and producing return calculations accurately.
+ Confidence in communicating results and insights to stakeholders in both written and verbal formats.
+ Commitment to maintaining data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance in all deliverables.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $65,000 - 80,000 for the Washington, DC market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
