Alternatives, Inc. in Raritan, NJ is looking to hire a Vice President of Finance to join the executive leadership team.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President of Finance is a key member of the executive team, responsible for overseeing all financial and facilities operations. This position ensures Alternatives' fiscal integrity and long-term sustainability, while supporting our mission and goals. The VP of Finance will also oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, audits, and risk management.

QUALIFICATIONS
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
+ MBA or CPA (preferred)
+ Six (6) years experience in a management role
+ Deep knowledge of accounting principles and financial management in a non-profit context
+ Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
+ Experience in Medicaid billing
+ Experience with financial software - Abila MiP
+ Non-profit experience strongly preferred
+ Valid driver's license with a good driving record
+ Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead financial strategy, planning, and forecasting in alignment with organizational goals
+ Oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations
+ Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to the executive team and Board of Directors
+ Manage the annual budgeting process and provide financial guidance to department heads
+ Ensure proper internal controls and risk management procedures are in place
+ Lead the preparation for annual audits and liaise with external auditors
+ Supervise finance and accounting staff, providing mentorship and professional development
+ Work closely with development and program teams to align financial planning with fundraising and operational goals
+ Manage relationships with financial institutions, vendors, and regulatory agencies
