    Description:

    Trauma Registrar

    *Remote opportunity for experienced professional.

    Position Purpose:

    The Trauma Registrar is a member of the Trauma Services department of an American College of Surgeons verified Trauma Center. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, data abstraction, data entry, injury identification, ICD-10 and AIS coding and scoring, and validation for accuracy of trauma patients from Mount Carmel Health System facilities.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Graduate of a minimum of a two-year college program preferred.

    + Related program certificate courses or applicable experience accepted.

    + Licensure / Certification: Obtain and maintain a trauma specific or HIM certification within three (3) years of hire: _Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialists (CAISS)_ , _Certified Specialists in Trauma Registry (CSTR),_ _Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)_ , _Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA),_ _Certified Professional Coder (CPC)_ , _Or related Health Information Management certificate_

    + Experience: Previous trauma registry experience preferred

    + ICD 10 CM/ PCS coding experience preferred.

    + Proficiency with MS Office 365 software required.

    + Computer data entry experience required.

    + Knowledge of medical record procedures, medical terminology, basic anatomy required.

    **This is a remote opportunity but candidates must have experience in trauma registry or related position or internship.
