Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Albany, New York. In this role, you will oversee various aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inter-company transactions. Responsibilities:
• Perform monthly reviews of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Aging Reports to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
• Prepare annual filings for 1095-C and 1099 forms, adhering to compliance standards.
• Assist with accounts receivable collections and billing for various categories, including lump sum, time & materials, and rentals.
• Maintain and update equipment spreadsheets, including adding new items and serial numbers.
• Collaborate with project managers to address job-specific inquiries and assist with job creation in accounting systems.
• Support bid submissions and conduct monthly job reviews, comparing costs to budgets and ensuring compliance with documentation.
• Provide backup support for payroll processes, including distributing reports to project managers and updating fringe benefits and man-day calculations.
• Manage inter-company allocations, billings, and journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Track business mileage for project managers and estimators, and handle refunds and allocations between divisions.
• Participate in miscellaneous projects across company entities and enhance proficiency in Foundation software. Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting
• Bachelors in accounting required
• Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entries.
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with month-end close processes and AIA billing procedures.
• Hands-on experience with Foundation Software or similar accounting systems.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining compliance with financial regulations.
