Description We are looking for a skilled Budget Analyst to join our team in Dundalk, Maryland. In this Contract to ongoing position, you will play a key role in budget preparation, financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role offers an opportunity to collaborate with various departments, contribute to strategic decision-making, and support the organization’s financial goals.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, review, and adjust budgets throughout the annual budget cycle to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
• Assist faculty and staff in monitoring revenue and expenses to maintain accurate financial tracking.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and statements in accordance with federal, state, and county regulations.
• Monitor, oversee, and control appropriations and expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility.
• Distribute budget development spreadsheets to department managers and provide guidance during data submission.
• Update position budgets and incumbent information to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
• Generate periodic position control reports for employees with ongoing roles and maintain the position control system.
• Analyze expenditures and develop reporting for part-time associates to support financial planning.
• Conduct research, including trend and variance analyses, to provide insights for senior management.
• Facilitate budget transfers and journal entries to address deficits and maintain financial stability. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in budget analysis or financial planning roles.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems such as Abila MIP and 3M.
• Familiarity with business systems and processes related to budgeting and cost analysis.
• Strong ability to prepare and analyze annual budgets, including projections for salaries of permanent and part-time staff.
• Experience with auditing and preparing financial statements in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Knowledge of Banner Ads and other reporting tools used in financial analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to conduct research and produce actionable insights.
• Effective communication skills to serve as a liaison between the Budget Office and organizational administrators.
