Siemens Energy is seeking a highly skilled and motivated

Excitation Field Service Engineer to join our Controls Group based in

Alpharetta, GA! The successful candidate will be responsible for providing

technical support, maintenance, and problem solving services for excitation

systems in power plants and industrial facilities. This role requires a strong

understanding of electrical engineering principles, hands-on experience with

excitation systems, and the ability to work independently in the field!

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

+ Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance toensure efficient performance and reliability of excitation systems.

+ Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to excitationsystems, including hardware and software components.

+ Provide technical support and training to customers andend-users on the operation and maintenance of the excitation systems.

+ Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and implementsolutions for sophisticated technical challenges.

+ Prepare detailed service reports, technical documentation,and manuals for both customer and internal use.

+ Ensure strict compliance with safety standards andregulations during all field service activities.

+ Stay ahead of with industry trends, standard processes, andadvancements in excitation technology.

What You Bring (requirements)

+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relatedfield.

+ 3–5 years of experience in field service engineering,preferably focused on excitation systems.

+ Proven experience with the installation, commissioning,problem solving, and maintenance of excitation systems, ideally Siemens Energyor similar products. Solid understanding of power generation, control systems,and power plant operations, with proficiency in using diagnostic tools, testequipment, and specialized software.

+ Demonstrated ability to work independently in the fieldwith strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Willingness to travelfrequently to customer sites domestically and internationally; must possess avalid driver’s license and the ability to obtain necessary traveldocumentation.

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills toeffectively interact with customers and multi-functional teams, ensuring smoothproject execution and high customer satisfaction.

+ Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in theUnited States without need for current or future employer-sponsored workauthorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may beeligible for internal transfers.

Gas Services

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power

generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power

generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators.

Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and

digitalization of the fleet.
