Healthspire™ Life Sciences Solutions (HLSS) has an exciting opportunity to join our growing team to accelerate the development of robust product solutions to meet the needs of the enterprise, pharmaceutical, and medical device companies.
Through our Real-World Evidence (RWE) team, our organization offers analytical and advisory services for patient-reported outcomes, and patient-directed intervention products. The team helps client with their real-world evidence generation needs and has contributed to several peer-reviewed research publications. As the Lead Data Scientist of Research Quality, you will be working in a multi-disciplinary team and in collaboration with clients and prospective clients.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
The Lead Data Scientist, Research Quality role is vital to maintaining and improving the quality of research deliverables produced by the HLSS team. This position will be responsible for conducting detailed reviews of complex data analytics, statistical modeling, predictive analytics, ensuring accurate and reliable data and programming is at the foundation of evidence generation activities. This position will be responsible for identifying data issues, implementing data quality strategies, review for accuracy, consistency, completeness, reliability, and adherence to established research protocol guidelines.
This position is responsible for overseeing and leading a team of quality and compliance personnel to utilize tools, techniques, and workflows to ensure data is high quality, complete, transparent, generalizable, timely, and scalable.
Responsibilities / % Time
+ Perform data profiling and analysis through examining datasets to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and any data quality issues - 25%
+ Develop tools and techniques to assess data quality metrics, rules, and processes - 25%
+ Develop and enforce data validation procedures to ensure compliance with these standards - 20%
+ Create data quality scorecards, conducting data audits, implementing necessary data corrections as well as data protection through every stage of regulatory submissions and potential audits - 20%
+ Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and define data quality standards - 10%
Prior Relevant Work Experience** **:
+ Prior work experience in undertaking a comprehensive and thorough quality assessment with solid experience in research, study design, databases, analytics & technical tools in healthcare/ health plan/ pharmaceutical analytics and research.
+ Experience in identifying potential problems leveraging their deep knowledge of the landscape, surrounding therapeutic areas and treatments.
You must be able to apply computational theories and practical skills such as:
+ Strategic thinking to develop efficient plans and tools.
+ Problem solving and Interpretative skills working in Healthcare/Medical Insurance/Pharmaceutical
+ Dealing with resolving data quality problems and providing quality assurance oversight of data flows and stores.
+ Data Mining and phrasing for resolving data quality problems (ex. Determining root cause of quality issues, recommending short term/long term solutions).
+ Knowledge of Analytics Models (ex. SAS, QA practices, SQL, Python/Jason, SPC, applying TQM principles)
+ Experience working with research quality control processes.
+ Experience with troubleshooting, documenting source-to-target, and other data issues from internal and external customers.
+ Experience identifying and describing the complex interplay between technologies and organizational structure (ex. Database Error Detection)
+ Must be multi-faceted and able to balance the demands of concurrently running projects.
Required Qualifications
+ 10+ years of experience in healthcare working with software systems such as SQL/SAS dealing with large data sets and data quality.
+ Experience with problem solving, decision making, and Interpretative skills working in Healthcare/Medical Insurance/Pharmaceutical domains.
+ Experience in SAS and research methods.
+ Deep background/experience in research methods, metrics, and design of studies.
Preferred Qualifications
+ PhD or related field.
+ Strong ability to work as an independent authority figure and able to identify and mitigate potential issues without consequence.
+ Good verbal and written communication skills (ex. Ability to consult and liaise).
Education
+ Advanced degree in a related field like computer science, statistics, or mathematics.

The typical pay range for this role is:

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
