    The Role:

    Cognizant is looking for an experienced and innovative **Senior Java FSD Dev w/AWS** to serve our diverse base of global clients. As a member of our team, you will build innovative, cloud-based software that powers modern business. An ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a diverse, collaborative, geographically distributed team. Similarly, the ideal candidate is an expert engineer who values the “team”, drives continuous improvement and is unafraid to challenge the legacy status quo with creative cloud-based solutions.

    Work Authorization

    + Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship (H-1B, L-1B, L-1A, etc.)

    Responsibilities

    + Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure APIs using Java and Spring framework.

    + Build responsive and dynamic user interfaces using React.js.

    + Implement microservices-based architecture and design patterns.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

    + Integrate with messaging systems like Kafka for real-time data processing.

    + Utilize containerization tools (e.g., Docker) and CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment.

    + Work with relational databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL.

    + Deploy and manage applications in cloud environments, preferably AWS.

    Qualifications:

    + **8 - 12 years of experience**

    + Strong fundamentals in **Java** , **API-first design** , and **React.js** .

    + Solid understanding of **modern architecture** and **design patterns** , especially **Microservices** .

    + Hands-on experience with **Spring Framework** , **Kafka** , **Containerization (e.g., Docker)** , and **CI/CD pipelines** .

    + Proficiency in working with **Oracle** , **PostgreSQL** , or similar relational databases.

    + Experience with **cloud platforms** , particularly **AWS** .

    + Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience with DevOps practices and tools.

    + Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

    + Strong communication and documentation skills.

    The annual salary for this position is between $81,337– $141,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

     

    This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
