    General Laborer in Colorado Springs

     

    Seeking a laborer with a solid understanding of grades. The successful candidate will be responsible for running string lines, checking grades, shoveling, sweeping, site clean-up, installing silt fencing, and performing other basic construction labor duties.

    Responsibilities:

    + Run and manage string lines to indicate direction and elevation.

    + Check and verify grades.

    + Perform shoveling and sweeping tasks.

    + Clean up the site.

    + Install silt fencing.

    + Assist with general labor tasks in construction.

    + Handle tasks related to excavation, civil utilities, trenching, and digging.

    Essential Skills:

    + Experience in general labor, construction, or excavation.

    + Understanding of grades and grading.

    + Ability to work with string lines.

    + Experience in concrete, landscaping, utilities, etc.

    + Reliability and trainability.

    + Strong work ethic.

    Work Environment:

    + Work outside in various weather conditions.

    + Mandatory safety meetings at the Calhan, CO shop on Monday mornings at 6 AM.

    + Projects located from Rocky Ford to Ridgegate (Lone Tree), with the initial project at a truck stop in Pueblo.

    + Candidates must be willing to follow the work without drivetime reimbursement or per diem.

    + A 40-hour workweek is expected, with overtime available.

    + Physical demands include regularly sitting, talking, or hearing; frequently using hands to handle or feel; and reaching with hands and arms.

    + Occasionally requires lifting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing or balancing.

    + Ability to lift and move up to 50 to 100 pounds and specific vision abilities such as close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
