This position’s duties are broken down into three different disciplines:
1. Tooling and manufacturing equipment maintenance
2. Assisting the Production Manager with administrative responsibilities, such as maintaining E2 and keeping tool inventory and assisting Production Manager with DL Labor and special projects, as necessary.
3. Assisting the Production Manager with special DL projects to ensure the timely completion of projects.
Essential Functions / Responsibility:
• Building and following maintenance schedules for Nomad vehicles, rental vehicles, and Production equipment.
• Providing record keeping reports of equipment.
• Scheduling and personally performing maintenance and repairing of tooling equipment. Specific tooling and systems include, but are not limited to:
o Brake, shear, compressed air, vehicles, trailers, hand tools, table/chop saws, drill presses, sanders/grinders
• Managing a monthly budget to accomplish tooling and equipment maintenance requirements.
Administrative:
• Using of E2 shop software
• Quoting construction, equipment, and miscellaneous requests.
• Building spreadsheets in Excel for the presentation of competitive bids.
• Identifying, sourcing, purchasing, physically picking up and delivering various automotive and industrial parts for operational needs.
• Using a database to manage and track hand tooling assigned to technicians.
• Managing the tool crib:
o Identifying tooling needs and purchasing accordingly.
o Keeping stock of key items.
o Maintaining inventory by tracking tools checked in and out to technicians.
o Being responsible for production hand tooling maintenance and repair.
• Managing a monthly tooling and repair budget to accomplish requirements as outlined by the Production Manager.
Basic Knowledge Desired:
• Understand the significance of the Nomad Core Values and display a demonstrated willingness to apply them.
• Knowledge of the safety requirements of the shop, as well as being an example of all safety standards that have been established by Nomad. Must also be active within the daily implementation of the shop’s safety standards, ensuring that all other personnel are adhering to the guidelines as well as working with management and their teams to create safer shop environment.
• Ability to learn the daily requirements of working within a team environment (safety, cleanliness, timeliness, honesty, integrity, teamwork,) and assist in strengthening the team in both an adherence of these principles as well as individual management growth within these areas.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of general building and construction skills, such as knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repairs of buildings and other structures.
Physical Demands:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms to handle, feel, reach or operate objects, tools, or controls.
• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear and is occasionally required to sit.
• At times, the employee will be required to work at heights up to 40-50 feet.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Assistance required for anything heavier than 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to distinguish individual colors.
Working Environment:
• Partially environmentally controlled indoor area with temperatures fluctuating between 60°F and 100°F, typically maintained around 70°F.
• Occasional outdoor work required.
• Exposure to noise levels ranging from low to loud; safety hearing devices provided as needed.
• Possible exposure to household and commercial chemicals; adherence to safety protocols outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) required.
• Mandatory wearing of OSHA-approved safety eyewear and closed-toed shoes at all times on the production floor.
• Use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE), such as respirators or protective coveralls, may be necessary for specific tasks.
Qualifications & Experience:
• High school graduate or GED.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of documented work experience in facilities/maintenance field preferred.
