Digital Asset Technical Director
The Digital Asset Technical Director will bring their experience and expertise to help lead character and rigging development for LAL projects. This role is responsible for supporting the planning, creation, and review of high-quality character assets and rigs used across company shows and productions. Working closely with the story and animation teams, the Technical Director will guide the development of character assets to meet specific aesthetic and performance requirements. Additionally, they will collaborate with external vendors’ rigging and animation teams to ensure alignment across all studios, maintaining rigging consistency and efficiency throughout the animation pipeline.
CG Supervisor
The CG Supervisor’s primary goal is to work closely with the Cinematography Lighting & VFX Director and the production leads as a member of a small team of technicians and artists to collaborate with an overseas team for shot production. A major portion of the role is to align and continually communicate with all internal departments, and to assist in developing pipeline tools, to perform animation enhancements and look development that meets the needs of the show for both internal and overseas teams.
Color Key Artist
Under the artistic supervision of the Supervising Director, Art Director, Lighting Director, and Senior Color Key Artist, the Color Key Artist will paint lighting keys using still frames from animatics as guidelines for 3D Lighters on an animated television series. Additionally, assist the Digimatte team in creating mattes and background elements for use in final shot production.
Lucasfilm Animation is located in San Francisco, CA, USA. Successful candidates must be able to relocate to the Bay Area and possess work authorization eligibility for the USA. The hiring ranges in San Francisco, CA are $85,400 to $213,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
