    POSITION: Science Teacher/Academic Integration Specialist – Anticipated (FT - 10 Month)

     

    SITE/BUILDING: Various Locations throughout Suffolk County

     

    ASSIGNMENT: Department of Career, Technical and Adult Education

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + The primary function of this position is to support the delivery of high-quality science instruction within secondary career and technical education programs that offer students the ability to earn science credit. This support is provided via collaboration with CTE instructors, including co-teaching, collaborative planning and instructional coaching.

    + The successful candidate will also support CTE programs by periodically delivering in-service professional development to fellow instructors and reviewing and updating the science standards indicated in curriculum maps, and developing related supporting science integration charts.

     

    START DATE: September 1, 2025

     

    MINIMUM STARTING SALARY: $61,469.00*

     

    * Minimum starting salary rates are established per 2025-2026 Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).

    Job Qualifications

    + NYS Science 7-12 Certification (Earth Science, Biology, Physics or Chemistry)

    + Dual or multiple certification preferred (in other content areas and/or SWD, ESOL, or Bilingual)

    + Minimum 3-years of teaching experience

    + Deep knowledge of content area standards and skills applications

    + Experience in instructional coaching role and/or delivering professional development

    + Demonstrate commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
