Seeking a Senior Accountant – Recruiting on Behalf of one of our clients
About the position: The Senior Accountant will oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, and provide strategic financial insights. This person will supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, month-end close, and preparation of reports to support the financial statements. This position also tracks company metrics, including costs, cash on hand, and forecasting. This position is part of the senior leadership team and requires attending meetings, providing guidance, and making recommendations for the betterment of the organization.
The Senior Accountant will report to and work closely with the President and others in the organization to analyze and reconcile accounts, ensure the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
The ideal candidate possesses leadership capabilities, a solid operational and technical accounting background, and works proactively to drive results. This person is a self-starter, flexible, has a high level of integrity, and is action and goal-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment.
What will you do?
+ Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance
+ Reconcile accounts monthly and maintain ledger integrity
+ Assist with audits and prepare documentation for external auditors
+ Identify cost-saving opportunities and revenue enhancement strategies
+ Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
+ Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in tax preparation
+ Provide financial forecasting and budgeting support
+ Prepare profit and loss statements and other financial reports out of Sage Intacct
+ Collaborate with executives to develop financial strategies
+ Manage WIPs and project accounts
+ Responsible for payroll reconciliation, oversight, and review before processing
+ Post payments and identify discrepancies in payments received, resolve issues, and communicate when collection efforts are unsuccessful
+ Maintains and reconciles fixed assets schedules
+ Lead and mentor junior accounting staff
+ Assist with other duties as assigned
Education We Are Looking For:
+ A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required
+ Certified Management Accountant (CMA), a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is highly preferred
Experience To Be Successful:
+ 5 to 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior role that included payroll, high volume invoicing, expense processing, and accounts payable/receivable, with advanced monthly reconciliation
Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed For The Role:
+ Exceptional attention to detail and highly organized
+ Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience
+ Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) and financial reporting standards
+ Proficient understanding of Sage Intacct, ADP Workforce Now, and Microsoft Excel
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
+ Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, time management skills, and strong math knowledge
+ Project-based accounting
Wage: $87,135 to $104,000 annually
