The Quality Assurance Inspector in Plastic Injection Molding is responsible for performing basic quality inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet the required standards and specifications. This entry-level role involves working closely with the production team to identify and report any deviations from quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Inspection and Testing:
+ Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of plastic injection molded parts according to established procedures.
+ Use measurement tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify product dimensions and specifications.
+ Perform basic functional tests to ensure product performance and quality.
+ Documentation:
+ Accurately record inspection results and findings in quality control logs and databases.
+ Prepare and maintain inspection reports and documentation for review by supervisors and management.
+ Non-Conformance Reporting:
+ Identify and report any non-conforming products or materials to the Quality Supervisor.
+ Assist in segregating and labeling non-conforming products to prevent their use in production.
+ Process Monitoring:
+ Monitor production processes to ensure they are operating within established quality standards.
+ Alert production and quality management of any deviations or potential issues.
+ Communication:
+ Communicate effectively with production operators, supervisors, and quality team members regarding quality issues and findings.
+ Participate in team meetings to discuss quality concerns and improvements.
+ Continuous Improvement:
+ Provide feedback on potential areas for process improvement to enhance product quality and efficiency.
+ Participate in quality training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Compliance:
+ Ensure compliance with company quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
+ Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
+ Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in quality assurance or a related field is a plus.
+ Experience: Entry-level position; previous experience in a quality inspection role within a manufacturing environment, particularly in plastic injection molding, is advantageous but not required.
+ Knowledge:
+ Basic understanding of quality assurance principles and practices.
+ Familiarity with plastic injection molding processes and terminology is beneficial.
+ Skills:
+ Attention to detail and strong observational skills.
+ Basic proficiency in using measurement tools and inspection equipment.
+ Good communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
+ Certifications: Certification in quality inspection (e.g., Certified Quality Inspector from ASQ) is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements:
+ Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
+ Manual dexterity to handle small parts and measurement tools.
+ Occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.
+ Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and other elements.
Work Environment:
+ Manufacturing floor environment.
+ Fast-paced and deadline-driven setting.
