Ontic's Chatsworth, CA, site specializes in precision engineering, MRO, and new solutions for parts at risk of obsolescence. Our team is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer, Electrical to join them. You will report to the Engineering Manager and will have an onsite work structure in Chatsworth, CA.
To be considered for the Manufacturing Engineer, Electrical opening, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics
+ 0-1 year experience in aerospace electronics manufacturing, planning and fabrication, working with integrated circuits and devices as controllers, invertors, AC/DC motors, and accessories
+ Knowledge of materials, outside processes, NDT and specifications related to precision aerospace components and systems
+ Knowledge of design/drafting practices, geometric tolerancing, and proficiency in reading/understanding drawings, schematics, specifications
+ Effective communication and ability to write clear, concise technical reports
+ Project management experience
As a Manufacturing Engineer, Electrical, you will:
+ Develop manufacturing planning for new electronic products and improve/modify existing planning as needed
+ Design/improve electronic test equipment and testing methods, as needed
+ Develop/modify BOM on new or existing electronic products
+ Assist in identifying and evaluating suppliers, for new or critical processes
+ Assist Purchasing in resolving supplier's technical problems, drawing and specification interpretation, in particular dealing with obsolescence of electronic components and finding replacements
+ Assist Customer Service and Sales in providing technical support to customers
+ Act as back-up for the Engineering Estimator and assist in estimating process
+ Help to trouble-shoot assembly/test related problems, as required
+ Understand and participate in Manufacturing/Production Engineering and development through the concurrent (teaming) engineering process daily
+ Oversee the production processes (including outside processing) with Quality, as required
+ Initiate and participate in the drawing change process (ECR, ECN), as required
+ Act as mentor, facilitator and educator to internal customers to foster cross-training, creativity, teamwork and smooth process flow daily
+ Manage multiple activities and workload to avoid bottlenecks daily
+ Participation in management and department meetings as required
+ Participate in MRB as a member with focus on electronic products
+ Participate in technical evaluation of electronic products for potential licensing.

Salary Range:
+ $80,000- $95,000/year, based on experience
