    PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Sr Mgr Product Portfolio & Secondary Market at our Tysons, Virginia location. We are seeking a Senior Manager of Product, Portfolio, and Secondary Markets Management to lead strategic planning, growth initiatives, and market expansion for our lending portfolio. This role is responsible for optimizing product performance, driving portfolio profitability, and managing secondary market strategies, including loan sales and securitization. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in consumer lending, portfolio management, and capital markets, with a strong analytical and strategic mindset.

    Product & Portfolio Strategy:

    + Develop and execute strategies to optimize loan portfolio performance, profitability, and risk-adjusted returns.\

    + Lead initiatives to expand product offerings, enhance underwriting strategies, and improve customer acquisition and retention.

    + Analyze market trends, economic conditions, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth.

    + Partner with risk, finance, and operations to balance growth and risk objectives.

    Secondary Markets & Capital Strategy:

    + Develop and manage strategies for loan sales, securitization, and investor relations in secondary markets.

    + Work with capital markets teams to assess funding strategies, pricing, and market conditions.

    + Ensure compliance with investor guidelines, regulatory requirements, and risk management policies.

    + Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize funding mix and maximize liquidity.

    Business Expansion & Optimization:

    + Identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and distribution channels to drive business expansion.

    + Develop pricing strategies and performance models to ensure sustainable growth.

    + Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement data-driven strategies for continuous improvement.

    + Present insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

    Qualifications

    Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

     

    + Bachelor’s Degree in related field required, Master’s Degree preferred.

    + Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in product management, portfolio strategy, or secondary markets within consumer lending or financial services.

    + Minimum of two (2) years’ direct management experience.

    + Strong understanding of loan portfolio management, capital markets, and risk-based pricing.

    + Experience with loan sales, securitization, and investor relations is a plus.

    + Proficiency in financial modeling, data analytics, and market research.

    + Excellent strategic thinking, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

    + Strong communication and presentation abilities, with experience engaging senior executives and external stakeholders.

     

    Supervisory Responsibility

     

    This position will supervise employees.

     

    Licenses and Certifications

     

    + Agile Product Manager or Product Owner certification a plus.

    + Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.

     

    Work Environment

     

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

     

    *Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.*

     

    Travel

     

    Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call is required.
