Job Description:
*Highland Hospital is seeking a Full Time Patient Registration Associate for our Perioperative / Surgical Department. Candidates for this role would work a Monday - Friday schedule where shift start / end time ranges from 5a - 4p. No weekends or holidays required.
The Patient Registration Associate (PRA) provides support for Highland Hospital Surgery/Operating Room. This includes greeting patients and visitors, verifying patient demographics and insurance, scheduling appointments, medical records management, and telephone management. Responsible for accurate and timely input of collected information into the Hospital information systems. Manages patient flow to assure the highest level of patient centered care and operational efficiency.
Some other duties include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Greeting OR Surgery patients and visitors with the highest level of professionalism.
+ Patient and visitor check in.
+ Registration of all OR patients and visitors into information systems, including collecting demographic and insurance information.
+ Provide general information to patients and their families as per department procedure.
+ Assist with the completion of various forms as requested by patients or staff.
+ Handling telephone calls involving triage of phone calls to the appropriate person/department.
+ Contacting patients with surgery arrival times and preparation instructions.
+ Enter accurate patient arrival times into the next business day schedule and send to multidisciplinary departments for their planning.
+ Using the software program Medical Check-In accurately for patient identifier.
+ Participates in staff meetings as integral member of collaborative team to improve efficient delivery of quality health care to patients.
Maintaining health information in Electronic Medical Record. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
+ navigating throughout electronic medical record to locate pertinent information as it relates to the PRA role.
+ continuous oversight of task box.
+ sort and route all correspondence through EMR staff messaging to clinicians in a timely manner.
+ Send patients messages through My Chart.
Salary Range:
$18.00 - $23.81 an hour

Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._

Job Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or GED; or equivalent experience.
Experience: Three years previous office experience; medical office experience preferred.
License/Certification Required: n/a
Skills: Ability to use various hospital information systems (which may include eRecord, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel) experience is highly recommended.
