    Wells Fargo is seeking a Managing Director for Market Risk and Capital efficiencies within the Financial Resource Management group of the Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB). This critical leadership role will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to efficiently manage the bank's trading related risk-weighted assets for the CIB trading businesses. Primary goals are centered around enhancing financial resource efficiency, maximizing long-term shareholder value, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.

    Responsibilities:

    + Develop and present risk and capital analysis to senior management, highlighting risk concentrations and recommending efficiency and mitigation strategies.

    + Provide strategic advice and regular updates on progress and key initiatives to senior management within the CIB.

    + Partner with Risk Management to ensure alignment of optimization strategies with the bank's risk appetite and effective management of market and counterparty risks.

    + Work in close partnership with Finance to ensure data integrity, alignment on financial goals, and accurate reporting.

    + Engage with Technology to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of necessary systems and tools for capital optimization and P&L processes.

    + Monitor and interpret domestic and international regulatory capital rules from front office perspective (e.g., Basel III, Volcker Rule) to ensure compliance and identify optimization opportunities.

    + Oversee the integrity, quality, and governance of risk and capital data, ensuring compliance with enterprise data controls and regulatory standards.

    + Partner with trading, finance, technology, and risk teams to enhance data capture, reporting, and analytics for traded products and capital calculations.

    + Conduct deep dives into emerging risk situations, new products, or complex trades to assess capital and data implications.

    + Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of risk and data stewardship.

    Required Qualifications:

    + 8+ years of experience in market risk, capital markets, or data risk management within a corporate or investment banking environment.

    Desired Qualifications:

    + 8+ years of Leadership experience.

    + Strong knowledge of traded products (derivatives, securities, financing), risk models (VaR, stress testing), and regulatory capital frameworks.

    + Expertise in data governance, risk data aggregation, and data quality controls for financial risk management.

    + Proficiency in risk analytics tools, SQL, and advanced Excel; experience with risk systems and model validation is a plus.

    + Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Financial Engineering, or related field.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex risk and data topics to diverse stakeholders.

    Job Expectations:

    + Up to 10% travel

    + This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CRF 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

    Pay Range:

    + Base pay range for this position in New York & Charlotte is 400,000.00 - 400,000.00 USD

    + May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights or other long-term incentive awards

    Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

     

    $249,500.00 - $518,300.00
