If so, we are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic manager to bring their leadership and expertise to support the Amazon Travel and Events functional teams at Amazon. In this role we are seeking a customer obsessed, strategic mindset and detail oriented professional to develop and drive transactions strategy, initiatives that envision implementing smart, intuitive payment models in partnership with Account Payables that balances customer experience with necessity controls. This role will focus on managing and optimizing travel and events payment operations while ensuring robust fraud prevention mechanisms. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional who can drive payment process improvements, maintain strong vendor relationships, and implement effective fraud controls while balancing customer experience with risk management requirements.
This role will significantly contribute to building the travel and events payments landscape and support AP team to drive payments program utilization. This is a high visibility position offering opportunities for meaningful impact and deep collaboration with senior leaders, AP and FOAA teams and vendors across all geographies and functions. The individual in this role must quickly develop partnerships with internal stakeholders, 3rd party partners, and senior leadership to build alignment and drive program goals, key projects, and initiatives.
Key job responsibilities
Travel and Events Transactions Management
• Partner with Amazon AP team to establish and implement innovative and smart payment solutions
• Interfacing with business and technical stakeholders, gathering requirements and producing data-driven analysis; partnering with internal teams to support new payment products or functionality post launch
• Working cross functionally across travel and events, expense, finance, and accounting to resolve payment issues in the Travel and Events program across geographies; Lead day-to-day payment operations and process optimization initiatives
• Serve as primary liaison for all travel and events payment-related matters
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships related to payment solutions
• Work closely with Compliance Manager to establish robust fraud mitigation controls for travel and events payments
• Implement and monitor payment fraud prevention mechanisms for travel and events payments
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across different geographies
• Develop and maintain risk management practices for payment operations
• Continuous review of travel and events payments and transactions processes to identify operational gaps and strive for process optimization and automations
Analytics and Reporting:
• Create and monitor transactions and payment KPIs
• Identify cost-avoidance opportunities through data analysis
• Maintain documentation of payment procedures and workflows
Basic Qualifications
• 5+ Years of relevant experience preferably in a travel, event, expense or payment operations environment
• 2+ years experience in global payment systems and methods of payments
• Experience using metrics with an understanding of how they impact the business
• Experience in relationship management and driving strategic initiatives with partners
Preferred Qualifications
• Good judgment and open communication
• Experience in travel and meeting technologies/data/processes and a general understanding of the travel ecosystems
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple stakeholders needs in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to prioritize root cause resolution, process improvements, and drive enhancements and automation
• Exemplary ability to think strategically and identify and resolve problems
