Description
The Chronicle team team is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer who can use data to solve complex customer problems. Our teams build global analytic products that proactively surface data driven insights to help grow and optimize Amazon’s business.
In this role you will be responsible for solving complex and ambiguous analytical challenges. You will lead and influence business-critical decisions across multiple organizations and geographies with the metrics that you create and manage. You should have a track record of end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. You should be able to work on complex initiatives, deal with ambiguity and advocate on behalf of the customers.
A successfully candidate will
- Be able to manage multiple projects - including pre-onboarding and onboarding
- Define analytical approaches and metrics strategy to uncover new insights
- Have experience sourcing, manipulating, and visualizing data to tell business stories
- Be able to clearly communicate strategic findings and recommendations
- Translate complex, technical concepts into business terms and vice versa
- Work with technology and analytics teams to support the development of tools and dashboards
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
