As a result of continued growth, we are looking for a motivated and reliable Entry Level Fire Alarm Technician to join our team in Rochester, NY. In this role, you will assist with the installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems in accordance with local, state, and national codes. This position is ideal for individuals looking to start a rewarding career in fire protection and life safety systems.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Assist with the installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems and related devices under supervision
+ Work with senior technicians to ensure systems comply with safety codes and regulations
+ Perform basic troubleshooting and repair of fire alarm components
+ Interpret wiring diagrams, plans, and manufacturers' instructions
+ Accurately document all work performed and maintain records as required
+ Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines during site visits and installations
+ Communicate effectively with customers and team members
+ Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working order
+ Attend training sessions and stay updated with industry standards and code changes
Requirements:
+ High school diploma or equivalent (required)
+ Basic understanding of electrical or low voltage systems (preferred but not required)
+ Willingness to learn and follow instructions
+ Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
+ Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
+ Good communication and interpersonal skills
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
+ Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in various environments
+ Pass background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Vocational training or coursework in electronics, fire alarm technology, or a related field
+ Prior experience or internships in fire alarm, security, or electrical systems
+ OSHA 10 or other safety certifications
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
+ Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
+ Depending on the customer site, noise level could be quiet (as in a library or public office) or moderate (as in a business office with computers and light traffic)
+ Ability to withstand heights and climb ladders comfortably.
Starting Pay Rate: $20
