    Job Title: Civil Engineer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer to join our team, responsible for site development, stormwater management design, site grading, erosion and sediment control, and utility planning from project inception through construction. This role offers a high-visibility, challenging position with growth opportunities where your contributions and performance will be easily recognized. Experience with site permitting in Maryland is required, and public project experience, including K-12 and Higher Education, is preferred.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage design, permitting, and construction services for assigned projects efficiently and responsibly.

    + Sign and seal drawings with PE stamp when authorized.

    + Maintain positive client relationships regularly.

    + Participate in adopting and improving design standards.

    + Estimate additional work fees and alert Team Leader of scope creep issues.

    + Complete site designs and perform hydrology calculations.

    + Design stormwater management, grading, and drainage plans.

    + Prepare detailed utility plans for water and sewer infrastructure development.

    + Maintain knowledge of Sustainable Site requirements for LEED Certification.

    + Perform hydraulic and hydrologic stormwater management design.

    + Design sediment trapping facilities that are hydraulically routed.

    + Prepare bond and cost estimates.

    + Review shop drawings and provide timely responses to questions.

    + Ensure quality control procedures are maintained.

    + Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and government agencies.

    + Attend progress meetings for projects.

    + Direct drafters and assist engineers on projects.

    + Help supervise others when the team leader is absent.

    + Motivate staff and maintain rapport with all levels of staff members.

    + Demonstrate leadership abilities with project teams.

    Essential Skills

    + At least 4 years of experience in land development, stormwater management, sediment control, and grading.

    + At least 3 years of experience in designing with Civil 3D.

    + Proficiency in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.

    + Experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD.

    + Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in the private sector is preferred, but public experience is acceptable.

    + PG County experience is a plus.

    + Project Management skills.

    + Understanding of Sustainable Site requirements for LEED Certification.

    Work Environment

    This position offers a hybrid work schedule with the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects. You can choose to work from Upper Marlboro or Frederick, MD. The office environment is collaborative between disciplines, offering significant growth opportunities.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $65.00/hr.
