    Position: Extended School Year - Substitute Teacher (Posting number 2526-3305)

     

    Dates: July 7 - August 15

     

    Salary: For applicants with bachelor's degree or 60 college credits - $19.00/hr, for retired NYS teachers with proof of retirement - $23.00/hr

    Requirements:

    + Teachers needed for elementary, middle and high school classes.

    + Experience working with students with developmental disabilities in special class settings

    Job Expectations:

    + Provide schedule availability to ESY Coordinators

    + Execute lesson plans consistent with the teacher’s guidelines

    + Uphold an orderly classroom environment and provide a positive learning experience

    + Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground and bus loop

    + Familiarize yourself with emergency protocols, such as fire drills and lockdowns and be able to safely evacuate and supervise students

    + Adhere to all school policies and procedures

    Skills and Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree or 60 college credits (NYS Teaching certification preferred)

    + Copy of official college transcripts

    + NYS Fingerprint clearance

    + Scheduling availability, flexibility, patience

    + Confidence and proficiency in giving instruction

    + Superb verbal and written communication skills
