    About Us:

    The Iowa Utilities Commission (IUC) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Management Analyst 2 to support Customer Service system applications and lead special IT projects. This position will report directly to the Customer Service Bureau Chief and work closely with the DOM DoIT IT Manager. This position will play a key role in managing several large-scale IT initiatives and system upgrades for the IUC. This position does not require development or programming experience.

    What You'll Be Doing:

    + Support key IT projects related to customer service systems, including upgrades, enhancements, and troubleshooting.

    + Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and integration of IT systems.

    + Update detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies for large-scale IT initiatives.

    + Support IUC internal and external hearings and meetings by overseeing AV camera and sound equipment and run meeting room technology.

    + Provide back-up support on technology inventory and minor desktop troubleshooting.

    + Support data analysis, process improvements, and system testing to ensure effective service delivery.

    + Assist in creating and maintaining documentation for new systems, upgrades, and processes.

    + Coordinate and communicate with staff on system updates, changes, and troubleshooting efforts.

    Who We're Looking For:

    The ideal candidate will possess:

    + Strong project management skills with experience in IT-related projects, especially customer service systems.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.

    + Experience with reporting and dashboard software (Examples: Google Looker Studio and PowerBI)

    + Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

    + Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.

    + Experience with system implementation, upgrades, and testing.

    + A background in public utilities or government-related work is a plus.

    Minimum Qualification Requirements

    Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:

    1) Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field, and two years of full-time work experience in project management; management analysis; data science; business systems analysis; or professional-level program administration, development, or operations.

    2) All of the following (a and b):

    a. Two years of full-time work experience in project management; management analysis; data science; business systems analysis; or professional-level program administration, development, or operations; and

    b. A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in part a), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.

    3) All of the following (a and b):

    a. A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience in project management; management analysis; data science; business systems analysis; or professional-level program administration, development, or operations, where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience; and

    b. A total of two years of graduate-level education and/or full-time experience (as described in part a), where twenty-four semester hours of accredited graduate college or university coursework in business administration, industrial management, statistics, natural science, or a closely-related field equals one year of full-time experience.

     

    4) Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to 12 months of full-time work as a Management Analyst 1.
