Software Engineer (Server) III

The Team

We are a rapidly growing and talented engineering team building product and platform software. The team owns and is responsible for solutions to support Clover POS applications.

The Role

This position is in Clover's Point of Sale zone. The senior server engineer is critical in software development, producing quality, reliable, scalable applications to support Clover products. With Clover, these businesses can run thousands of transactions and remotely access and handle orders and inventory through a single solution.

What You Will Do

+ Own and develop key product and platform features.

+ Build and maintain scalable, resilient applications and contribute to frameworks and libraries.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, product managers, and designers to translate requirements into functional, maintainable software.

+ Develop tests and work closely with QA to define testing strategies.

+ Participate in code and design reviews, deployment, and release activities.

+ Participate in a regular on-call rotation.

What You Will Need To Have

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical education.

+ 7+ years in software development, with a focus on distributed systems.

+ 2+ years of technical leadership delivering complex systems to production.

+ Expertise in object-oriented design and cloud systems.

+ Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or Scala.

+ Strong background in database design and SQL.

+ Experience with microservices and cloud-native architectures.

+ Solid grasp of algorithms, data structures, and system design principles.

+ Ability to write maintainable, testable, and high-performance code.

+ Experience with agile methodologies, iterative development, and lean practices.

+ Familiarity with CI/CD workflows, source control, and automated testing.

+ Strong communication and collaboration skills.

What Would Be Great To Have

+ Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

+ Professional architect or cloud service provider certifications.

+ Exposure to generative and agentic AI

+ Knowledge and experience with NoSQL.

+ Interest in functional programming.

+ Experience with POS systems.

Salary Range

$96,400.00 - $162,000.00
