    Job Description:

    The Senior Coordinator, Meetings assists in the planning and delivery of local ABA events, including committee meetings and DC-based special events for ABA members and other financial services professionals. The position provides administrative support for meeting planning functions including venue contract submission and tracking, in-person event staffing, and hybrid meeting delivery.

     

    This position interacts with senior management professionals from financial institutions, as well as, numerous ABA departments and team members to achieve event objectives.

     

    Event Management Support

     

    + Coordinate with key stakeholders, including internal clients and event team members to establish and meet event goals and objectives.

    + Assist with the sourcing, planning, and staffing for approximately 20 DC-based committee meetings at local hotels.

    + Collaborate with ABA’s Executive Office, and assist in the planning and staffing of two (2) annual Government Relations special events including theme development, menu selection, vendor management, and onsite support.

    + Support ABA’s hybrid conference experiences by collaborating with virtual platform vendors to identify and consider new features to enhance virtual event experiences and review pre-recorded content to ensure ABA quality standards are achieved.

    + Maintain historical data, such as room block and attendance information for ABA committee meetings and recommend process improvements to enhance the success of future events and the delivery of internal customer service.

     

    Hybrid Meeting Support

     

    + Assist in the scheduling of recorded speaker presentations for select ABA conferences.

    + Collaborate with virtual platform vendors to identify and implement features to enhance the virtual attendee experience.

    + Review recorded content to ensure ABA quality standards are met.

    + Assist in the review of the platform before launch to ensure accuracy.

    Required Experience:

    + Associate degree required, Bachelor’s degree in event management or related field preferred.

    + 3+ years of work experience on conferences and events; experience in event management preferred.

    + Cvent and Workday experience preferred.

    + Ability to put members at the center of decision-making and possess a desire to create and execute a stellar member experience onsite.

    + Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to anticipate change.

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills; must have active listening skills with the ability to synthesize data and ask questions to help define outcomes. Strong critical thinking skills are required.

    + Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.

    + Actively look for ways to assist internal and external teams to exceed customer expectations.

    + Ability to work well under pressure.

    + Experience in monitoring budgets.

    + Ability to meet multiple deadlines, show high attention to detail and work independently.

    + Ability to travel (<20%).

    Salary Target for Role:

    $70,000 - $75,000

    Salary Band Range:

    $58,373.00 - $75,949.00 - $93,525.00
