Job Summary
Perform technical and specialized work of an intermediate grade of skill in connection with chemical analyses, industrial hygiene (IH) testing and calculations related to the operating efficiency of power plant equipment and assist in performing other technical services.
Job Description

What You’ll Do:
+ Collect and test boiler waters.
+ Perform polisher/demineralizer regenerations.
+ Perform polisher/demineralizer maintenance.
+ Understand operation of water pretreatment and RO.
+ Unload bulk chemicals correctly and safely.
+ Safely feed Redox to the JBR (Jet bubbling reactor).
+ Safely collect rotating equipment oil samples.
+ Conduct plant oil analysis.
+ Perform groundwater well sampling.
+ Perform bearing water sampling and analysis.
+ Perform condenser inspections.
+ Perform other job duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education requirements are listed below:
+ Two-year Associate degree in Chemistry, Biology or Environmental or Associate degree in another discipline with five (5) years of related industrial chemical, environmental or laboratory experience, with knowledge of chemical handling and testing, piping, fittings and valves. Must be able to pass a Technician Occupations Selection System (Tech) examination.
Work Experience requirement listed below:
+ Must satisfactorily complete, in such time frames as may be established by the company, all required training to advance to the Performance & Industrial Hygiene Technician classification or vacate the Performance & Industrial Hygiene Technician classification.
Must have a thorough working knowledge of:
+ Testing equipment in the department
+ Engineering calculations for test results, reports, performance and records
+ Tools and equipment and their skilled use as required in the work
+ The clearance procedures, safety practices and current procedures applicable to the work. Should have working knowledge of PC/control interface and basic data entry skills. Must be able to read and work from manufacturers' instruction books, specifications and instruction material as supplied. Must be able to lead and direct other employees and obtain cooperation and satisfactory work results. Must have demonstrated the ability to physically and mentally perform work in all areas and heights required.

Licenses/Certifications:
+ Must possess the appropriate State driver's license. Must obtain and maintain all necessary certifications and licenses as required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
+ Must be able to work at heights and climb ladders and structures
+ Able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, twist, push and pull
+ Work with hazardous material
+ Environmental conditions including heat and cold weather, dust and fumes

Compensation Range:
$37.06-41.17 USD
The Physical Demand Level for this job is: M – Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
