Description
Equitable Financial Life Insurance Company seeks a Financial Operations, Tax for its New York, NY location.
Duties: Responsible for delivering and managing a variety of corporate tax issues, including tax consolidations, tax adjustments, information reporting, and financial statement reporting, as well as for local, state and federal tax return compliance and tax accounting for insurance and noninsurance. Ensure tax compliance by calculating federal, state, and local income tax adjustments. Utilize interactive visualization software tools (Tableau and Microsoft Power BI) for analyzing the period-over-period changes. Lead estimated state tax payments processing and preparation of consolidations for state income tax return filings and state sales and use tax estimated payments and tax return filings. Coordinate tax accounting by directing junior analysts with regard to calculating federal tax provisions for quarterly and annual statutory financial statement reporting and recording tax journal entries in the accounting system. Review return to provision adjustments, as well as tax information reporting, including client requests for tax identification related to withholding tax. Direct and review statistical data analysis for federal and state desk audits and field audit inquiries for income, franchise, and sales and use taxes and prepare communications and responses. Lead preparation and filing of state franchise tax estimated payments and tax returns. Process tax return filings, record payment requests in the Accounts Payable system, and ensure tax compliance. Review statistical analyses and perform advance analysis to support data automation for software development, enhancement and migrations, as needed.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting and 2 years of progressive post-Baccalaureate experience as Associate or closely related position involving corporate tax accounting and audit compliance for insurance and noninsurance industry. Experience must include Corptax, SAP, SuperForm, TaxInterest; Advanced Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. 40 hours/week. Salary is $91,000 - $113,000. Direct applicants only.
