    The SNF Agora Institute at Johns Hopkins University is seeking a **_Research Program Coordinator_** to advance a key program within our mission. This role will report directly to the SNF Agora Fellow and assist with research support for a newly formed lab housed within the SNF Agora Institute.

    Specific Duties & Responsibilities

    + Coordinate the research activities for a newly formed lab within the SNF Agora Institute.

    + Manage a cohort of student researchers, assist with the drafting of accompanying public reports that disseminates the lab’s work.

    + Provide overall operational and strategic research support for various initiatives related to the lab.

    + Collect and analyze survey and focus group data; manage relevant logistics (including securing relevant IRB approvals).

    + Manage and train a cohort of undergraduate and graduate student research assistants within the Lab.

    + Lead the analysis and dissemination of relevant research data, including writing up research results in conjunction with lab PIs.

    + Support lab faculty with research initiatives focused on creating a Conservative Pro-Democracy Agenda, as well as, research that is focused on elections, institutional trust, political violence, and identity-based polarization and threats to democracy.

    + Coordinate with the SNF Agora Communications team on the lab website and public facing communications; maintain lab’s website with pertinent research and key press.

    + In conjunction with lab faculty, support the writing of grants and grant reports related to the various lab initiatives.

    + Lead the process with creating instruments for local and national polling on social and political identity and elections.

    + Support the analysis of the lab’s polling activities, including creating briefings, press releases, op-eds, and journal articles that describe the results of the polling.

    + Coordinate the launching of the Democracy Dashboard, a research tool that measures political identity on an ongoing basis.

    Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    + Willingness to work independently with a team that frequently travels and/or works in hybrid mode.

    + Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced and contingent environment.

    + Proficiency in R, or other equivalent statistical software (e.g. STATA, SPSS, etc.)

    + Strong organizational skills

    + Outstanding mixed methods research and writing skills

    + Strong working knowledge of institutional policies and sponsor guidelines.

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexibly handle competing priorities and Stakeholders

    + Experience with coordinating complex research projects

    + Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

    + Experience managing staff.

    + Ability to manage multiple projects and establish priorities using independent judgment and ensuring deadlines are met.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Five years of experience providing programmatic and/or research support on relevant projects preferably in support of Academic, Business, Research and/or Development activities and operations, providing high-level administrative oversight, coordination, and advice.

    + Entrepreneurial experience with programmatic and research projects.

    Starting Salary Range: $17.20 - $23.75 - $30.30 HRLY (Commensurate w/exp.)

     

    Employee group: Full Time

     

    Schedule: M-F, 8:30-5:00

    The listed salary range represents the minimum and maximum Johns Hopkins University offers for this position, based on a good faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as location, skills, experience, market conditions, education, and internal equity. Not all candidates will qualify for the highest salary in the range.
