Associate General Manager – Special Projects/Production Finance
The Associate GM reports to the Vice President of Production and has two areas of responsibility. The first is to manage various projects which require a strong production knowledge but overlap into a finance or business area. For instance, tax credit work, workers compensation management, evaluation of operating budgets across the productions, creating up to date records on contract terms for various associates and technical staff across all of our productions, helping to build production and operating budgets and other projects to aid the VP of Production and the production department. The second area of focus would be overflowing work in the Associate GM realm within our GM teams and developmental projects. For example, when a GM team has a particularly heavy period of production taking on GM tasks to alleviate the workload.
Main Responsibilities:
+ Responsibility for the preparation and submission of tax credit documentation. On average successful filing of these documents has resulted in $1 to 3 million in revenue for DTG
+ Work closely with the VP/General Managers/HR/ER to better manage workers compensation claims on the shows and manage preventive action to help reduce workers comp premiums which are up $1 million this year alone
+ Create detailed production and operating budgets as a support to VP/General Manager teams
+ Create tracking system with VP Production/GMs/Legal to accurately track labor across all of our productions to ensure parity and coordination of terms
+ Provide Associate GM support to production teams on an as needed basis - building budgets, executing contracts, liaising with production and technical teams
+ Support General Managers in building EFC using budget and operating assumptions from production business model
+ Work with VP Production on calendars of our productions, present and future, across the world
+ Willing to help manage creative development projects as needed – readings, labs, etc. - either along with GM teams or independently
+ Periodically review operating costs of running self-produced and major licensed shows, to ensure the shows are run in the most efficient way

Qualifications:
+ 5+ years working in Company Management and/or General Management
+ Experience working with capital and operating budgets
+ Experience with State tax credit preparation a plus
+ Familiarity with theatrical unions
+ Strong collaborative skills and a track record of working productively with creatives
+ All applicants must have strong interpersonal, organizational, leadership skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
+ The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently, manage multiple projects concurrently, analyze situations and proactively identify potential solutions

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $112,200 to $145,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
