Position Description

Serco is seeking a Simulation Support Team (SST) Manager 1 to join our dedicated team at Camp Dodge in Johnston, Iowa, in support of the Army National Guard (ARNG) Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP). In this leadership role, you will coordinate and lead technical, networking, and operational support efforts for training exercises, overseeing the performance and reliability of complex simulation environments using the JLCCTC suite.

In this role, you will:

+ Provide management and coordination of technical, networking, and exercise support for mission command training environments.

+ Lead technical staff in the installation, operation, integration, and troubleshooting of systems.

+ Perform system maintenance, backups, application updates, and IAVA patching.

+ Ensure each Mission Training Complex can simultaneously execute multi-echelon and single-echelon exercises.

+ Coordinate SST support at MTCs and Training Unit Commander points of need.

+ Interpret and implement exercise planning documents through system configuration and simulation integration.

+ Monitor and resolve system issues, document technical problems, and follow Information Assurance protocols.

+ Maintain STIG compliance, system patches, backups, and user account administration.

+ Provide subject matter expertise in systems administration and military simulation technologies.

Qualifications

Qualifications

+ One of the following:

+ Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience in military training and support.

+ Master’s degree with 6 years of experience in military training and support.

+ Experience with technical support and training at Brigade or higher level.

+ Active DoD Secret clearance.

+ Must obtain IAT Level II Certification and complete DoD computing environment training within 180 days of hire.

+ Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

+ Must be able to work on-site at Camp Dodge in Johnston, Iowa.

+ Must be available for shifts beyond standard working hours and able to support extended workweeks for exercise events.

+ Must be able to move equipment up to 50 lbs and access system setups in constrained areas.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

+ Proven leadership in technical operations and training support.

+ Proficiency in system configuration, simulation integration, and IA compliance.

+ Strong troubleshooting skills and operational planning abilities.

Additional desired experience and skills:

+ Master’s degree in CS, IT, Cybersecurity, or related discipline.

+ Experience planning distributed/stand-alone simulations for Army C2 systems in LVC environments.

+ Federation Manager experience with HLA/DIS training federations.

+ Prior FA57 or CP36 designation.

+ Linux OS certification (CompTIA Linux+, RHCSA).

+ Active IAT II certification (e.g., Security+ CE).

+ MCSA certification for Windows 10/Server 2012.

+ Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Windows in virtual/bare metal configurations.

+ VMWare installation and maintenance experience.

+ Knowledge of mass deployment tools for configuring large numbers of systems.

+ Operational support experience with JLCCTC at the Corps and below level.
