Position Description:
This position is responsible for providing Gastroenterology services at University Medical Center. The person in this
position works in a busy, pressured environment and sees a high volume of patients, as needed by TTUHSC. This position is responsible for providing primary ambulatory medical care. This includes examination of patients, ordering x-rays and laboratory tests to help make an accurate diagnosis, and planning and execution of treatment. Major/Essential Functions:
+ Provides Gastroenterology in-patient care and in-patient consultation services.
+ Supervises and teaches students,residents, and fellows in both in-patient and outpatient care.
+ Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship.
+ Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures.
+ Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with Paul L. Foster School of Medicine.
+ Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibilities .
+ Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes.

Preferred Qualifications:
+ M.D. or D.O. degree Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas
+ Successful completion of ACGME-accredited residency training in Internal Medicine
+ Successful completion of ACGME-accredited fellowship training in Gastroenterology.
+ Board certification in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine Board certification in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
+ Experience teaching Medical Students, Residents, and Fellows
+ Bilingual (English and Spanish
+ Regional or emerging national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher

Required Qualifications:
+ Graduated from an approved accredited School of Medicine with an M.D. degree
+ At least three years post-graduate training in primary care medicine
+ Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas or have the ability to transfer license to Texas
+ Certificate or license for prescribing controlled substances
