    Summary

    The Internal Communications Manager serves as a trusted communications advisor and strategic business partner to senior leaders they support. This role is responsible for developing and delivering communication strategies that engage employees, drive alignment to company priorities, and ensure a strong, connected culture. The Manager helps leaders communicate with clarity and confidence, bridges gaps between teams, connects strategic initiatives, drives change management, and ensures consistency of messaging across business areas. With a strong strategic mindset, the Internal Communications Manager provides tailored coaching, crafts compelling content, and builds trusted relationships that position internal communications as a critical driver of business success and employee engagement.

     

    This role also contributes to the broader internal communications strategy, helping manage key channels such as the intranet, newsletters, and company-wide meetings to ensure communications are aligned, impactful, and audience-focused. Familiarity with emerging tools, including AI-powered platforms for content creation, analysis, and personalization, is increasingly important to optimize reach and efficiency.

     

    This position will support our Communications team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office 2-3 days per week. This position is based out of Dallas, TX.

     

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

     

    + Strategic communications partnering: Develops and executes strategic internal communications and change management plans that support business goals, drive employee understanding, and enhance engagement. Provides proactive communications counsel and coaching to leaders.

    + Content development: Creates clear, concise, and engaging content—including leadership messages, business updates, human interest stories, technical content, and presentations—that connects employees to the company's mission, strategy, and culture.

    + Relationship management: Builds strong, trusted relationships with leaders and key stakeholders across the business. Actively consults, influences, and collaborates to deliver communications that drive understanding and action.

    + Channel strategy and execution: Leverages and manages internal communication channels (intranet, email newsletters, meetings, events) to effectively reach and engage different audiences. Partners with the team to optimize and innovate across platforms including SharePoint, Microsoft 365 tools, Poppulo, and others.

    + Strategic alignment: Connects the dots across business areas and initiatives, ensuring internal messages are coordinated, consistent, and aligned with external communications. Encourages collaboration and minimizes duplication or competing priorities.

    + Measurement and continuous Improvement: Tracks the effectiveness of communications plans and content, using insights to refine approaches and drive continuous improvement.

     

    Education & Experience

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, PR, or related field

    + 6-12 years of progressive communications experience, preferably in corporate environments; change management experience preferred

    + Proven success partnering with senior leadership and influencing communications strategies

    + Experience using AI tools for content generation, channel optimization, or internal engagement measurement is strongly preferred

    + Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for a range of audiences

    + Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments

    + High business acumen, aligning messaging with broader organizational strategies

    + Collaborative and team-oriented, with a focus on breaking down silos and fostering partnership across functions

    + Ability to navigate ambiguity, proactively solve problems, and operate independently

    + Expertise with internal communications platforms and tools, including SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Poppulo, and others

    + Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information

    + Expertise in developing messaging, communications plans, and strategies

    + Strategic and creative thinker, with ability to analyze and synthesize complex information, including data

    Travel Requirements

    Travel up to 25%
