SCOPE OF POSITION:
Manage physical inventory, shipping, and receiving functions across multiple manufacturing sites. Develop and implement best practices and controls for material handling, storage, material flow, cycle counting and inventory accuracy for raw material stocks, finished goods, components, purchased items, etc., pertinent to manufacturing, customer service and stock inventories by performing the following duties. Optimize material stocks, storage and handling across multiple manufacturing sites in collaboration with supply chain and shipping organizations. Management of Warehouse personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Responsible for physical inventory and monthly cycle counts, including development and maintenance of the cycle count program. Also responsible to report as needed on the cycle count accuracy.
+ Work cross functionally with the supply chain, logistics and operations team to implement processes for best management of material flow, storage, facility utilization and provision of readily available and accessible raw materials, subcomponents, hardware, finished goods, as well as indirect materials.
+ Support or validates business decisions for inventory storage practices through development of KPI’s on facility throughput, material flow, and cross facility movements including resource requirements.
+ Develop an understanding of customer and business processes to recommend and implement improvements to support the overall strategic direction.
+ Partner with North American Shipping management for best practices of inbound and outbound logistics and packaging, working with traffic coordination team for execution.
+ Establish best practices and develops and documents SOPs to support material handling and storage.
+ Supervise Warehouse, Shipping, Receiving personnel.
+ Supervise preparation of products for manufacturing and shipping.
+ Improve overall site effectiveness through participation in cycle time reduction and lean activities according to the activities performed at the site.
+ Support the implementation and management of a WMSsystem that works alongside customer requirements and further enhances overall warehouse operations.
+ Supervise Receiving functions: Receipt transaction, stocking and delivery to floor.
+ Compare nomenclature, stock numbers, authorized substitutes, and other listed information with catalogs, manuals, parts lists, and similar references to verify accuracy of requisitions and shipping orders.
+ Regularly prepare reports as to material levels and order status; issues purchase and transfer requisitions.
+ Regularly pursue and evaluates reports, schedules, forecasts, etc. having to do with material requirements.
+ During peak loads, assist with expediting, selection, dispatching and routing of materials through manufacturing and shipping.
+ Audit the coordination of physical inventories at prescribed periods; check material records and adjust records if variances exist, prepare reports, and avoid overstocking and dead inventory.
+ Assist in determining obsolete materials and parts; review files to determine unused items and recommends disposal of excess stock.
+ Participate in Operations meetings to recommend policies; assist in determining manufacturing goals, plant manning requirements to resolve day to day or long range problems and other important procedural factors incidental to manufacturing operations and inventory functions.
+ Participate in various internal programs such as communications and liaison, cost reduction, work simplification, 5S, safety, and housekeeping.
+ Perform special projects as requested.
Qualifications
**KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION:** (Minimum Education and/or Experience required)
+ College graduate in Business, Supply Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics or related field preferred.
+ 5 Years experience in managing warehousing functions for manufacturing and distribution.
+ Experience in implementing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP Systems, and utilization of technology in automating warehousing functions.
+ Lean/Six Sigma training preferred.
+ APICS or applicable industry certifications preferred.
+ Ability to be self-directed to recommend business improvement activities for justification and implementation.
+ Ability to organize and prioritize work and to meet deadlines.
+ Able to use computers, including spreadsheets and data bases.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES** **:
+ Directly supervise employees in Inventory Control and warehouse management. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
