Job Summary and Qualifications

The Patient Care Technician PCT delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the PCT assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the PCT’s skills/training and the needs of the Department, and consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The PCT complies with all hospital policies/procedures and observes the State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.

We are seeking a Patient Care Technician for our ambulatory surgery center. You will provide safe and effective patient care by transporting patients safely and efficiently while maintaining cleanliness. You will assist with operating room turnover, sterile processing, inventory and supply maintenance. As an amazing addition to our team, you will uphold the HCA mission by committing to the care and improvement of human life.

What you will do in this role:

+ **Facilitate the transfer, positioning and transport of your patients**

+ **Assist with dressing patients after surgical procedures**

+ **Assist in overturning your operating rooms between cases**

+ **Interacts with patients, fellow employees, physicians, and other stakeholders in a manner which encourages quality patient care, harmonious working relationships, positive customer relations, and which enhances the image and reputation of the center**

+ **Assists in monitoring and recording in environmental and equipment log.**

+ **Perform terminal cleaning of your surgical area to include stretchers, move stretchers, and carry heavy bags of linens (30 to 50 lbs.)**

+ **You will maintain sufficient supply levels, cleanliness and orderliness of all your equipment and supplies**

+ **You will answer phones**

+ **You will assist with computer data entry**

Qualifications you will need:

+ **One year patient care assistance in a nursing or environmental services environment**

+ **Valid BCLS Certification upon employment***online certification not acceptable.**
