    Job Title:Outpatient Clinic Counselor

     

    Employment Type:Full-Time

     

    Schedule:Monday, Tuesday, Friday 8a-4p. Wednesday & Thursday 12p-8p.

    Job Summary:

    FLACRA is seeking a dedicatedOutpatient Clinic Counselorto provide case management and therapeutic services to individuals in need of addiction treatment. This role involves conducting diagnostic assessments, delivering therapy, and working closely with community partners to support clients on their recovery journey. As a vital member of our team, the counselor will ensure the well-being of clients and maintain positive relationships with referral sources.

    Must-Have Qualifications & Skills:

    + Associate’s Degree in Health or Human Services.

    + Valid NYS Driver’s License.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    + Knowledge of the local behavioral health system.

    + Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

    + Demonstrates composure and professionalism in challenging situations.

    Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Health or Human Services; Master’s Degree preferred.

    + Credentialed as a Qualified Health Professional (CASAC, CASAC-T, CASAC-P).

    Job Requirements:

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for clients referred by various sources to determine their treatment needs.

    + Provide therapeutic services, including individual, family, and group therapy sessions, tailored to the client’s specific needs.

    + Independently manage intake and client caseload using professional judgment, and consult on treatment techniques as needed.

    + Maintain active participation in staff meetings, in-service trainings, and supervision to ensure alignment with agency goals.

    + Build and maintain positive relationships with community groups, referral sources, and service agencies.

    + Participate in community presentations and training programs to promote addiction services and education.

    + Assist clients in developing interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to support their recovery.

    + Collaborate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and external partners to ensure high-quality care.

    + Respond appropriately to crisis situations to ensure client safety and well-being.

    + Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner, in compliance with agency and OASAS regulations.

    + Maintain professionalism by providing respectful and dignified care to all clients, representing FLACRA’s values.

    Skills & Experience:

    + Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

    + Proven experience working effectively with culturally diverse clients, staff, and community service providers.

    + Knowledge of the local behavioral health system and resources.

    + Ability to multitask and solve problems efficiently, even in high-pressure situations.

    + Experience using electronic records (E-records) for client documentation.
