The REAACT lab is located within the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh. The REAACT team conducts research that aims to improve mental health and wellbeing for autistic people across the lifespan through community partnership, engagement, and rigorous mental health research projects. This employee will be administering diagnostic interviews, structured mental health clinical interviews, and suicide-related assessments with autistic research participants. The employee will be integrated within a large autism research team. The employee will attend regular study meetings and interact with a large number of autistic children, autistic adults, and families of autistic people.
The REAACT Program is focused on emotion regulation, mental health, and measure and treatment development for ASD. More information about REAACT can be found here: www.reaact.pitt.edu
This position is grant funded.
Responsibilities:
+ Conduct diagnostic evaluations and structured mental health interviews.
+ Diagnose and coordinate appropriate dispositions for potential subjects for research studies.
+ Be trained to administer, score, and reliability score the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2), suicide assessments, neuropsych assessments, and post-traumatic stress disorder assessments to autistic and non-autistic adults
+ Administer, score, and reliability score suicide assessments, neuropsych assessments, and post-traumatic stress disorder assessments to autistic and non-autistic adults
+ Direct data collections (i.e., administer interviews).
+ Clinical supervisor duties (risk protocols)
+ On-Call for suicidality
+ Use clinical judgment as needed when research subjects need referrals. Ability to assess potential emergencies with collaboration with senior personnel, take appropriate action.
+ Attend weekly supervision.
+ Able to work evenings and weekends when needed.
+ Perform other duties as related to the research project as requested by the Principal Investigator, coordinator, and/or supervisor.
+ Masters degree required preferably in Psychology, Neuroscience, Counseling, Sociology, or related research field with a minimum of three years of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required.
OR
+ PHD in Psychology, Neuroscience, Counseling, Sociology, or related research field with a minimum of one year of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required.
+ Five years of experience in research and or clinical environment preferred.
+ Prior experience with autism preferred.
+ Prior experience in a research setting preferred.
+ Experience with autism or other developmental disabilities is strongly preferred.
+ Experience with suicide-related assessments is preferred.
+ Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
+ Must have excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Must be able to work independently once trained in a fast-paced environment.
+ Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
+ Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
+ Act 33 with renewal
+ Act 34 with renewal
+ Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
