Liberty Academic Counselor - Middle School

+ Provide or arrange for access to services that support student academic success including tutoring, mentoring, study skill development, social skills development, home visits, college/career exploration, community service and enrichment.
+ Establish and work with the principals and the school based advisory committee to select students for participation, monitor and improve academic progress, conduct home visits and maintain family/teacher communication.
+ Provide counseling and case management for students and their families to link with necessary community support services.
+ Develop collaborative programming in school and community to support high academic expectations and achievement.
+ Manage data collection, assessment, record keeping and reporting for the school-based project in a timely manner.
+ Participate in district and building initiatives as recommended.

+ Associates Degree with relevant experience
+ Excellent interpersonal skills; good organizational, record-keeping, verbal and written communication skills
+ Experience in public education settings; knowledge of social issues in the education of at-risk youth
+ The candidate should have a background in education or youth services working with adolescents.
Preferred:
+ Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree is preferred with concentration in counseling, social work, education or other human services fields.
+ Counseling or teaching experience in related federal or state programs is desirable
Additional Information:
Salary: $44,000 annually (12 month position)
