    How you make a difference

     

    The **Qualified Addiction Specialist** delivers impactful substance use services, including assessments, treatment, and recovery support for individuals with co-occurring diagnoses. This role ensures seamless integration of substance use services with ongoing mental health and medical care by collaborating with multi-disciplinary clinicians and maintaining open communication. Additionally, the specialist tracks program participation and shares insights with administrative and supervisory teams.     Key Responsibilities

    + **Assessment and Diagnosis** : Assesses and diagnoses individuals with substance use disorders.

    + **Education and Counseling** : Develops and provides alcohol and other drug education programs and counseling services.

    + **Collaboration** : Collaborates with employees providing medical and detoxification services to ensure effective follow-up.

    + **Treatment Planning** : Contributes to treatment plans, discharge planning, treatment continuity, and aftercare plans.

    + **Training and Reporting** : Provides training and consultation to employees on substance use disorders and prepares required reports.

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Education:

    + Required:MD,DO, PA or APRNfrom an accrediteduniversity.

    Experience:

    + Preferred: Two (2) years of clinical experience in addictions.

    Licenses/Certifications:

    + Required: Current licensure as a physician in the state of practice.

    + Required: Board certified or eligible in addiction medicine or addiction psychiatry.

    + Required: Current DEA certification.
