A Solution Architect within The Technical Integration Team work with external Partners to define and deliver video contribution solutions which meet the technical requirements and capabilities of both the Partners and PV; external partners can be Broadcasters, such as HBO, broadcast services operators such as EDM or Switch, Telcos such as Lumen, 3P software vendors like Zixi, or production companies like Sunset & Vine. Internally SAs work with commercial and business teams to define technical requirements, software development teams to align on high level, end-to-end engineering solutions, and operational teams to ensure that products and services can be supported once they go live. Our team have supported the launch of properties like Thursday Night Football and NASCAR along with concerts, current events, and award shows like the Academy of Country Music Awards.

     

    Key job responsibilities

     

    As a solution architect, you are responsible with the end to end interactions across multiple services; a typical signal flow from Partner to Customer involves video contribution, station and program metadata and/or rights, SCTE insertion, ad impression tracking for Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI) and Nielsen watermark impression tracking, as well as multiple tracks of audio or captions for CX or accessibility.

     

    Solution Architects in Prime Video, are specialist in audio, video and metadata signal flow, from camera to device. To be effective, the work we do spans video contribution, networking, processing, distribution and UX, multiple, systems, teams and organizations. We often troubleshoot in real time, viewers are our customers.

     

    A day in the life

     

    Daily responsibilities include

     

    - Managing 3P partners

     

    - Supporting daily calls with multiple internal stakeholders

     

    - Managing ambiguity and communicating through narrative and oral presentations

     

    - Participating in design reviews

     

    - Onsite live support for various events

    About the team

    - Solution Architects in Prime Video, are specialist in audio, video and metadata signal flow, from camera to device. To be effective, the work we do spans video contribution, networking, processing, distribution and UX, multiple, systems, teams and organizations. We often troubleshoot in real time, viewers are our Customers.

     

    - Solution Architects do not write production code, but may provide examples of production, proof of concept, or demonstration code to explain data flows and design choices

     

    - Solution Architects solve broad problems spanning multiple technologies and provide repeatable solutions.

     

    - Solution Architects work closely with Customer and Partner requirements, not only translating business requirements to technical solutions but also a point of escalation when Customer experience goes wrong.

    Basic Qualifications

    - 4+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

    - 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

     

    - 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

    Preferred Qualifications

    - Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries

     

    - Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

     

    - Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $204,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
