    Some of what you'll be doing:

    As a Construction Safety Administrator, you will manage the administrative functions of Construction Safety Management and support achieving its mission. You will serve as a direct liaison for contractors and Engineering management and staff.

     

    + You will manage and maintain the Engineering Construction Safety (ECS) contract control database and SharePoint sites and create reports for leading and lagging indicators and manage filing structure for each contractor/contract.

    + You will track and update the status of service agreements, amendments and service directives for Construction Safety. You will also resolve issues and adjust durations on tasks based on actual start/finish dates as needed.

    + You will maintain contract control and statistical analysis databases, Injury Logs, and prepare construction safety tracking reports.

    + You will manage filing structure for each contractor/contract, including site specific safety plans, safety meeting minutes, OSHA documents, contractor safety meetings, and other related documents in SharePoint and Live Link.

    + You will assist with work orders and facilitate service calls/maintenance concerns (facilities, keys, ICT).

    + You will schedule quarterly and yearly meetings with each facility representative in Engineering to review facility safety inspections.

    + You will update chemicals at each Engineering location in Health & Safety website for Safety Data Sheet (SDS). You will also schedule Construction Safety orientation classes and update the database in SharePoint.

    + You will develop and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), safety, emergency preparedness and Continuity of Operations (COOP), supply inventory for existing equipment and new replacement equipment when needed using Port issued purchase card.

    + You will monitor and maintain the monthly budget, track and provide input for items including office supplies, equipment and emergency supplies.

    + You will assist the Construction Safety Manager in monitoring Engineering Safety Program requirements to ensure regulatory compliance with department policies.

    Who you are:

    + **Experienced** – You have one (1) year of experience working in construction, construction safety or safety related environment and contract administration management.

    + **Desired** – We hope you have three (3) years of experience in construction safety and/or safety regulations and procedures, database management and software applications, knowledge of procurement practices, techniques and procedures, including purchase requisitions and contract administration and proficiency in MS Office and SharePoint.

    + **Organized Problem-Solver** – You possess effective problem-solving skills that help parse data and information to develop creative, rational solutions. You also have strong organization and time management skills.

    + **Technically Skilled** – You have strong computer skills and proficiency in applications of management and fiscal programs such as pivot tables and PowerPoint. You also have proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

    What else you need to know:

    + **Driver’s License** – You will need a valid Washington State Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain one, is required in order to travel locally to project sites.

    + **Work Schedule** – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. You may be required to work during emergencies.

    + **Work Environment** – You will primarily work in an office environment with the some potential limited remote options, based on the management requirements.

    + **Washington State Residency Requirement** – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.

    + **Overtime Eligible** – You are eligible for overtime pay in this role.

    + **Safety Requirements** – You will be required to comply with all work rules, safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

    + **Security Requirements** – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance.
