    Major/Essential Functions:

    + Provide patient care and diagnosis in all areas of Pediatrics to newborns, children, and adolescents.

    + Examine patients to determine the presence of disease and establishes preventive health practices.

    + Determine nature and extent of disease or injury.

    + Prescribe and administer medications and immunizations.

    + Precept medical students and residents in the clinic and newborn nursery.

    + Supervise physician assistants and/or nurse practitioners in the clinical and inpatient setting.

    + Engage in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship.

    + Serve the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties

    + Contribute to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission.

    + Ensure compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations.

    + Adhere to institutional and departmental policies and procedures.

    + Demonstrate professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility.

    + Uphold and promote the values-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso.

    + Board Certified in General Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics for the rank of assistant professor or higher

    + Bilingual (English and Spanish preferred)

    + Emerging or established regional or national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher
