Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our team in Douglaston, New York. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage financial operations for affordable housing units while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities:

• Oversee subsidy billing and collection processes for affordable housing units, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines.

• Perform monthly tenant billing for various programs, including Section 8 and organization-specific subsidies.

• Reconcile subsidy payments and address discrepancies with government agencies to maintain accurate records.

• Prepare detailed monthly financial reports and develop analytics dashboards to monitor subsidy performance metrics.

• Generate data-driven reports to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for operational improvement.

• Complete bank reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner.

• Review tenant income certifications to validate billing accuracy.

• Provide guidance to property managers on proper documentation procedures for subsidy programs.

• Act as a financial analyst for multiple properties by delivering monthly reporting and contributing to the annual budget planning process. Requirements • Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience, preferably within the real estate industry.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to diverse audiences.

• Advanced proficiency in financial software and tools, including Microsoft Excel.

• Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop team members effectively.

• Expertise in accounts receivable, property accounting, and financial statement preparation.

• Familiarity with Section 8 housing programs and bank reconciliations.

• Analytical mindset with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.
