Description We are looking for a skilled Attorney/Lawyer to join our team on a contract basis in Chicago, Illinois. This position primarily focuses on family law with a small portion dedicated to general litigation. Ideal candidates will bring expertise in litigation and familiarity with federal courts, ensuring effective representation for our clients.

Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in family law cases, including child support motions, parenting time motions, and other related matters.

• Prepare and present arguments in court, handling pre-trial conferences and hearings.

• Draft legal pleadings, motions, and other documents required for case management.

• Conduct client consultations to understand their needs and provide legal advice.

• Manage litigation tasks, including research and analysis, to support case strategy.

• Attend court proceedings and advocate on behalf of clients in both family law and general litigation matters.

• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure thorough case preparation and effective legal representation.

• Stay updated on changes in family law and litigation practices to provide informed counsel.

• Handle a mix of family law cases and general litigation, balancing responsibilities effectively. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in family law, with consideration for candidates with less experience if skilled in litigation.

• Strong knowledge of family law practices, including child support and parenting time motions.

• Proficiency in legal drafting, including pleadings and motions.

• Familiarity with federal court procedures and litigation processes.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills for court appearances and client interactions.

• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

• Strong analytical and research skills to develop effective legal strategies.

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois.
