    Starr RegionalMedical Centeriscurrently seeking talent to fill the position ofNurseTechfor ourWomen’sDepartment.This job is permanent,PRN.

    Core competencies include, but are not limited to the following:

    * Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs,possibly takingblood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.

    * Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.

    * Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.

    * Assistswith keeping patient rooms andcommon areasstocked, clean and orderly.

    * Providesappropriateandaccuratespecimen collections and care of patients based on individual needs.

    * Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.

    * Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members.

    * Meets with patient or patient's caregiver before or after admission to exchange necessary information and documentation.Provides explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions.

    * Communicates with admitting physician's office, nursing unit staff, and/or otherappropriate personnelregardingadmission to exchange necessary information anddetermineplacement.

    * Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorizationas necessary.Determinesand accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow up.

    Minimum EducationHS Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience □ Preferred X Required

     

    Required Licenses[Tennessee, United States] Nursing Assistant

    Certified Nurse Aide Licensure in State of TNX Preferred □ Required

     

    Required SkillsCompletion of a licensed nursing assistant programX Preferred □ Required

    Certifications:The below certifications will be required within 60 days of hire:X Basic Life Support (BLS)
