Job Description Summary
The Director of IT Intake and Governance oversees how Technology ingests, plans, prioritizes, approves, and executes work in partnership with key stakeholders across the firm. This role is responsible for strategic execution and continuous improvement of the processes, tools, and metrics required for Technology to make delivery commitments and measure the health of delivery execution against those commitments. This includes, but is not limited to project planning and stage gate management, regular execution reporting, KPI measurement, dashboard creation, template management, project data hygiene, and ServiceNow SPM product management.
This role works closely with stakeholders across the firm at all levels and is responsible for executive level reporting, KPI management, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have experience leading these functions for a large IT organization, bringing new ideas and ways of working to the table.
Job Description
Responsibilities
+ Lead the intake process for Transamerica IT demand (including projects, enhancements, software, and infrastructure demands), aligning requests and priorities with operational and resource constraints.
+ Provide the guardrails and tools to take work requests from across the firm and turn them into executable work commitments including plans, resourcing, dates, and costs.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure efficient and clear communication and understanding of project requirements and resulting plans and costs.
+ Oversee the end-to-end project record, including data integrity, to ensure continuous communication, follow-up, and measurement of the intake process, execution, and project closure.
+ Provide reporting and oversight of metrics that demonstrate the health of IT execution against business commitments
+ Provide direction and coaching in setting goals and performance of programs including project planning, execution, functionality, quality, cost, staffing, and resource allocation.
+ Manage and develop team members to meet department goals, resolve issues, and execute major program initiatives.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in business or IT related field
+ Ten years of technology and related management experience including IT program/project management
+ Experience with Agile and Scaled Agile (SAFe) processes and tools
+ Strong organizational skills (planning, prioritizing) and communication skills (written, verbal, listening) to successfully adapt to diverse people and situations, manage conflict, and proactively resolve issues
+ Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills to interact with business partners, staff, and management at all levels, including C-level executives
+ Leadership skills including relationship building, negotiation and influence, and facilitation techniques such as program increment (PI)
Preferred Qualifications
+ Program leadership experience in the insurance/financial services industry
+ Expert knowledge of agile and scaled agile frameworks and tools
+ PMP/PMI certifications
Working Conditions
+ Office or hybrid office/remote environment
+ Occasional travel
Compensation
+ The Salary for this position generally ranges between $160,000 - $210,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
+ Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.
